The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indexes recorded gains amounting to EGP eight billion during four sessions this week.
The market capital hit about EGP 765.1 billion in comparison with EGP 757.1 billion last week, up 1.1 percent. EGX operated four days only during the current week instead of the usual five because Monday was a national holiday on the occasion of the Coptic Orthodox Christmas day. The EGX 30 benchmark index went up by 0.77 percent to reach 13,367 points. The broader EGX 70 index of the leading small and mid cap enterprises (SME) went down by 1.01 percent to reach 687 points. The all-embracing EGX 100 index rose by 0.39 percent to reach 1,724 points. |
