Head of World Bank’s Sustainable Development Projects for Egypt, Yemen and Djibouti, Ashish Khanna, said the funding granted to Egypt currently stands at $7.3 billion, while talks are underway to have more investments in the fiscal year 2019/2020.
Speaking at the World Bank’s headquarters in Cairo Khan stressed that the bank aims to invest in digital economy and human capital projects, as well as any sector that requires support, particularly energy. He assured that Cairo is always committed to fulfilling its international obligations, thanks to improvement of macro-economy in Egypt. The bank will continue providing technical and technological support to Egypt in the coming period to accomplish its economic reform program, Khan added. |
