PM Chairs a Committee on Review of Industrial Lands Allocation

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired a meeting of a committee on reviewing the allocation of state-owned lands to industrial purposes to investors according to specified conditions and standards.

Deputy Housing Minister Randa el Menshawy, Deputy Finance Minister Ahmed Kajuk, Head of the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) and Deputy Chief of the New Urban Communities Authority attended the meeting. During the meeting, Madbouli underlined the importance of the committee responsibilities to review the system of allocation of lands to industrialists and investors with the aim of increasing the size of investments in the industrial sector.

He asserted that the first standard to be taken into consideration is the rapid building, operation and accomplishment of any industrial projects, adding that freezing of lands would not be allowed. The premier ordered holding meeting with the investors societies to get briefed on their needs of the industrial lands allocation to swiftly meet their demands.

Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad said the meeting reviewed a report on a national plan to upgrade the system of land allocations for industrial purposes, assessing the needs of investors, entrepreneurs and industrial companies through a social dialogue that involves all parties concerned in the industrial sector.

The report also covered the priorities of national industry strategy which is topped by reinforcement of national industry and export promotion.
