President Abdel Fattah El Sisi gave his orders to step up efforts to provide basic commodities for citizens at affordable prices.
The president gave his order during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and a raft of ministers in the presence of the head of Egypt's Intelligence Service and the governor of the Central Bank of Egypt. The president ordered the officials to speed up the removal of non-eligible citizens from the system of ration cards to ensure that subsidies are given to those who deserve them and to maintain the State's resources, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said. The meeting also touched on the availability of basic commodities at the Egyptian market as well as the implementation of Sisi's directives to establish new agricultural communities with a view to increasing crop production. The president was also briefed on efforts exerted to combat terrorism and give a push to the Egyptian economy. |
