 The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indexes posted collective gains at a total of EGP 66.8 billion in the first quarter of 2019.
In a quarterly report, a copy of which obtained by MENA , the Egyptian bourse said the market capital reached EGP 816.5 billion compared with EGP 749.7 billion at the beginning of this year. The EGX 30 benchmark index gained 13.06 percent to reach 14,737.88 points. The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SMEs) soared 1.29 percent to amount at 684.89 points. The all-embracing EGX 100 index gained 11.53 percent to stand at 2,400.81 points. The total transactions at the bourse during the first three months of year 2019 amounted to about EGP 82.6 billion, according to the report. |
