Tunisia's Trade Deficit Rises to $2.75 Billion

Tunisia’s trade deficit widened to 8.1 billion dinars ($2.75 billion) in the first five months of the year from 6.6 billion dinars in the same period of 2018, the State Statistics Institute said

The deficit is one of the main economic problems facing the government of Prime Minister Youssef Chahed.

Imports rose by 17% to 27.7 billion dinars in January-May, while exports rose by 15% to 19.6 billion dinars. ($1 = 2.9502 Tunisian dinars)
