The Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with global communications company ADTRAN Inc.
Under the signed memo, the US corporation will provide the communication network for the new smart cities under-construction nationwide. AOI chief Abdel Moneim el Tarras witnessed the inking ceremony in presence of ADTRAN's Chief Technology Officer Robert Conger, Chief Operating Officer Jerry Kelly and former Minister of Finance Hani Demian. This step comes in pursuance of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to localize technology and promote local manufacturing of communications and networking equipment by establishing partnerships with the global companies concerned. It seeks to boost the national economy by filling the gap in relevant imports and increasing investment opportunities. ADTRAN Inc. is a leading global provider of networking and communications equipment; its solutions are currently in use by service providers, private enterprises, government organizations, and millions of individual users worldwide. |
