Minister of Trade and Industry, Amr Nassar affirmed Egypt's keenness to make a qualitative leap in the level of economic and trade relations with Japan, especially in light of the successful visit of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the end of August to Japan to participate in the summit of "TICAD 7", The visit is important to achieve more cooperation between the two countries and move it to broader horizons.
The minister said that it was decided to form an Egyptian-Japanese workgroup chaired by the head of the Egyptian Trade Representation Authority with the membership of representatives of the export councils and the Egyptian trade office in Tokyo.. It aims at facilitating the flow of trade exchange between the two countries and eliminating all the challenges that may face the investing Japanese companies or those willing to inject new investments into the Egyptian market. This came during wide-ranging talks held by the Minister with, Minister of State for Economy, Trade and Industry, Mr. Yoshihiko Isuzaki , which discussed ways to deepen joint economic cooperation between the two countries during the next phase . The minister pointed out the strong Egyptian presence in the African continent in various fields as well as Egypt's unique role and role in the continent, especially under the Egyptian chairmanship of the African Union this year. He pointed out that there are great opportunities to enhance cooperation with the Japanese side to access the markets of African countries. Isuzaki stressed his country's keenness on increasing the Japanese companies operating in Egypt, being about 50 companies, as well as pumping more Japanese investments in Egypt in a way to commensurate with the level of relations between the two countries. |
