Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr asserted the importance of the Egyptian-Lebanese Follow-up Committee as a mechanism for following up the resolutions issued during the previous session of the committee.
Nasr also highlighted the importance being attached by the political leaderships in both countries to promoting bilateral cooperation and increasing investments in both countries in cooperation with Africa. Nasr made the remarks during a meeting with Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade Mansour Bteish at the end of her visit to Beirut. Meanwhile, the Lebanese minister lauded the Egyptian-Lebanese ties, voicing his country’s keenness to consolidate economic relations in the coming phase as well as to increase the volume of investments between both countries. The meeting tackled preparations for holding the joint ministerial follow up committee which is responsible for following up the implementation of the resolutions issued during the 9th session of the Egyptian-Lebanese joint higher committee held in May, 2019 in Lebanon under the co-chairmanship of both countries’ prime ministers. Nasr praised the significant achievements and positive development that the Egyptian-Lebanese cooperation has seen in many key fields and both countries' engagement in tripartite cooperation projects in Africa. The two sides agreed on pushing forward the participation of the private sector in promoting the tripartite cooperation through the Egyptian-Lebanese business council. |
