The General Organization for Import and Export Control (GOEIC) on Tuesday said that Egyptian non-petroleum imports went down in September by 21 percent.
In a statement, the GOEIC said the value of imports reached 5.110 billion dollars compared to 6.491 billion dollars in the same period last year. Imports of building materials went down by 33 percent reaching 731 million dollars in September this year compared to 1.089 billion dollars in the past year, it added. Also, imports of ready-made clothes went down by 27 percent registering 46 million dollars compared to 63 million dollars. Imports of furniture went down by 26 percent to reach 135 million dollars compared to 181 million dollars while imports of leather products went down by 24 percent reaching 15 million dollars compared to 20 million dollars, according to the statement |
