The Ministry of Trade and Industry hosted November 30, 2019 the 2nd meeting of the National Coordinating Committee responsible for preparing for Egypt’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai.
The meeting chaired by Head of the Export Development Authority Abdel Aziz el Sherif and attended by representatives of ministries and official bodies concerned, reviewed the progress of work in building the Egyptian pavilion in the exhibition, Sherif said in a press statement. The pavilion will reflect the Egyptian identity and boast new technologies that will enable visitors to get acquainted with future trade and investment opportunities available in Egypt, he added. Sherif also reviewed all measures taken during the previous period to establish the Egyptian pavilion according to the required standards. The upcoming period is to witness holding intensive meetings with representatives of industrial sectors and export councils to determine the types and quality of products that will be displayed in the pavilion, Sherif noted. The place is to showcase products by both public and private sectors, he pointed out, noting that the expo will offer a unique platform for the Egyptian private sector to market its products and sign lucrative trade and investment deals. Expo 2020 Dubai, the first world exhibition to be hosted by an Arab and Muslim country will take place from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021. Some 25 million visitors are expected, with 30% coming from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and 70% from abroad, thus making this the first event of its kind to attract more international visitors than local attendees. Over 190 countries have already signed up to take part in the Expo, whose theme is 'Connecting Minds, Creating the Future' |
