Egypt's Ambassador to Lebanon Yasser Olwi asserted the importance of economic relations between Cairo and Beirut, hailing the key role of the Egyptian-Lebanese business council in boosting these relations.
The Egyptian envoy made the remarks during a meeting with the Lebanese members of the business council under Head of the council Rabie Hassoun. The meeting touched on the vision of the Egyptian embassy and the council on promoting economic relations between both countries as well as the council's plan of action for 2020. The council should come up with a working plan that reflects the priorities of the private sector in both countries, Olwi said. The meeting outlined the priorities of the council's work in the coming period including the organization of a joint industrial exhibition in Africa, promoting joint investments in both countries and activating economic deals signed during the Egyptian-Lebanese joint higher committee meeting. The participants agreed to draft a joint working plan to promote the available economic opportunities in order to support the small and medium-sized companies in both countries. |
