 President Abdel Fattah El Sisi hailed the activities of the international Bechtel Corporation in Egypt and the ongoing cooperation between both sides, stressing Egypt's keenness to benefit from the US company's experiences.
President Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with CEO of Bechtel company Brendan Bechtel on the sidelines of Egypt Petroleum Show "EGYPS 2020" with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el Molla attending. President Sisi said that Egypt is keen to benefit from the US company's expertise not only in the oil and gas sector, but also in the transportation and construction sectors, mainly in light of the mega development projects being implemented across Egypt, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said. The president added that Cairo is also eager to make use of Bechtel's expertise in the desalination and wastewater treatment field, which he said represents a priority area for the state. Meanwhile, the Bechtel CEO said that the company has great ambition to beef up its activities and projects in Egypt, citing the ongoing efforts to contract with the Petroleum Ministry to implement a petrochemicals complex project in the Suez Canal Economic Zone. Bechtel thanked President Sisi for the great efforts exerted by the Egyptian state over the past few years in all fields mainly the development, economic and infrastructure ones which he said offer promising investment opportunities. |
