Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el Saeed said investment in the human element is one of the most important priorities of Egypt because it is the base for development and construction.
The minister's remarks came in a lecture she delivered at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development on Egypt's Agenda for Sustainable Development: Egypt's Vision for 2030. She said Egypt was among the first countries which outlined a national vision for achieving sustainable development. After four years of Cairo's releasing its vision for sustainable development, she said, there is a need for reviewing such document in accordance with local, regional and international changes to comply with the changes that have been introduced in the Egyptian economy after the application of the economic reform program that has started in 2016. The minister asserted that the ministry was keen on adopting a sharing approach in order to update Egypt's vision 2030 involving all its development partners including associations, civil society organizations, the private sector, academics and intellectuals, adding that a new vision for Egypt's vision for sustainable development will be released soon. |
