International Cooperation Minister Rania Al-Mashat said Egypt is keen on boosting ties with its development partners like the international organizations and financial institutions to exchange expertise and benefit from their practices in favour of Egypt's development agenda.
Mashat was speaking on Sunday8/3/2020 at the launch of the Better Work program, in cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO), and in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Public Business Sector Minister Hisham Tawfik, and Deputy Director-General for Policy at the ILO Deborah Greenfield. The Egyptian government and ILO engaged in talks over the past months about launching the development program, which aims to support the companies, operating in clothes and textiles, through improving the work conditions and enhancing exports, Mashat pointed out. Egypt believes in the importance of improving the labour environment and work conditions as a part of achieving social justice, the minister noted. She looked forward to making use of the technical support from ILO through Better Work, from which more than 30 Egyptian companies benefited and became exporting companies in the field of clothes and textiles. She added that such successful development projects contribute to achieving quick and high growth rates. Meanwhile, Greenfield expressed her happiness for partaking in launching the project with the Egyptian government, hailing the government's attention paid to the social policies. She also thanked Madbouli for his keenness and support to reach an agreement as soon as possible with ILO. |
