Petroleum Minister Tarek el Mulla asserted that the various reforms implemented by the government in the past few years had enabled Egypt to succeed at the economic level despite all obstacles that followed the COVID-19 pandemic.
This came during the inauguration of an online roundtable under the rubric “Opportunities to increase investments in obsolete petroleum production” in which a number of heads of international petroleum companies working in Egypt as well as CEO of Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) Abed Ezz attended the meeting. In statements, Mulla pointed out that the petroleum sector will continue exerting more efforts within the government’s economic program to reach new positive results. He noted that the oil sector had set a plan to enhance performance of obsolete oilfields in cooperation with the EGPC and the international companies to attract more investments in this field. The minister also said that the meeting reflects the confidence of international oil companies in investing in the Egyptian petroleum sector. |
