The Egyptian Exchange posted gains at the end of trading on the back of intensified buying operations of Commercial International Bank (CIB) shares by foreign investment funds.
The market capital gained about EGP 9.5 billion, registering EGP 627.9 billion at closing, with transactions totaling EGP 2.1 billion. Meanwhile, the EGX 30 benchmark index rose 2.2 percent, closing at 11,077.25 points. The broader EGX 70 EWI index of the leading small and mid-cap enterprises (SMEs) increased by 2.07 percent, registering 1,953.5 points. The all-embracing EGX 100 index went up 2.3 percent, closing at 2,863.3 points. |
