Rabie Discusses Ways of Cooperation With The French Ambassador in Cairo

Admiral Osama Rabie Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, and Marc Baretti, the French ambassador in Cairo, discussed ways of joint cooperation, at the Guidance Building in Ismailia Governorate.

The visit is the first official visit of Ambassador Mark Paretti to the Suez Canal Authority after assuming his duties as Ambassador of the State of France in Cairo.

He was accompanied during the visit by a high-level delegation from the French Embassy in Cairo, which included Mr. Philip Garcia, a Commercial Counselor, and Mr. Oldenberg, Head of the Embassy’s Economic Mission.

At the beginning of the meeting, Admiral Rabie expressed his pride in the strategic relations that unite Egypt and France at all levels. He affirmed the authority’s keenness to enhance the pivotal role of the Suez Canal to remain a major link between peoples and civilizations, serving humanity and a major artery for development and prosperity.

Admiral Rabie reviewed the efforts made by the Egyptian state to maximize the use of the Suez Canal, develop the surrounding area, and transform it into a global logistics and industrial center and an attractive area for investments.

Along with working on developing sources of national income by advantages of the authority’s companies and arsenals, and adopting digital transformation in all transactions and services related to the authority.

Admiral Rabie reviewed the efforts exerted by the Egyptian state to maximize the benefit of the Suez Canal, develop the surrounding area, and transform it into a global logistics and industrial center and an attractive area for investments.

The attendees were also briefed on updates on the development and modernization strategy pursued by the authority, which aims to continue developing the navigational course of the canal and modernizing the marine fleet, along with working on developing sources of national income by making good use of the authority’s companies and arsenals and adopting digital transformation in all transactions and services related to the authority.

On the other hand, Ambassador Marc Baretti, the French ambassador in Cairo expressed his happiness with his first visit to the Suez Canal, which gave him a clear picture of the development strategy of the authority and the various national projects it is implementing, Praising the steps that have been taken in this regard, explaining the aspiration of a group of major French companies to cooperate with the authority,

And exchanging experiences to support the authority’s strategy of moving towards digital transformation and automating all services provided to customers.

The French ambassador in Cairo praised the project of the International Museum of the Suez Canal, which is a cultural and civil forum to link future generations to the history and present of the canal, and a window to the future that supports development efforts and the central role of the canal,

Noting in this regard that the meeting discussed the possibility of Egyptian-French cooperation to organize an economic forum for French companies. And the Great Egyptian Museum of the Suez Canal after its opening.
