Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Hani Sewilam said his ministry has a national plan that it is determined to continue to implement, adding that the State has implemented a major project to rehabilitate canals rather than to just line them.
The minister made the remarks during a speech he delivered at a plenary session of the House of Representatives. During the session, chaired by House Speaker Hanafy Gebaly, Sewilam talked about the controls that govern operations to line canals, especially in populated areas. The minister added that the network of canals and drains across the country are 55,000 kilometers long. |
