Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said different State bodies are working to provide incentives and facilitation for advancing industry and increasing exports.
Madbouli's remarks came during a meeting he held to discuss how to boost exports, especially the food ones. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) Tarek Tawfik and Chairman of the Food Export Council Hani Berzi. The premier explained the aim of the government's recent meetings was to draw up a plan for growing Egyptian exports. Berzi briefed the prime minister on the proposals to increase Egyptian exports from 2023 to 2025, noting that speeding up the disbursement of export subsidies within a period not exceeding 3 months from the date of submission of documents for each export shipment, could contribute to enhancing the volume of exports. On his part, Tawfik called for removing any obstacles to major exporting companies and accelerating customs clearance of goods, in addition to offering further facilitation for importing production inputs. Tawfik underlined the importance of cooperation with the world's leading manufacturers on localizing the competitive industries, citing that several investors are interested in investing in Egypt to benefit from the available capabilities. |
