-The International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) has achieved remarkable successes since its first launch in 1993, developing steadily in recent years to include diverse exhibitors and audiences, providing an opportunity to learn about the latest innovations of defence systems manufacturers, which bolstered their competitive presence at the regional and international levels, according to a senior UAE official.
The 16th edition of IDEX and the 7th edition of the Naval Defence & Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, from 20th to 24th February 2023 in Abu Dhabi. ''We are glad to take this opportunity to welcome their visitors and wish the two exhibitions continued progress and prosperity.‘’IDEX is a platform providing experts and workers in various military and civilian sectors worldwide with the opportunity to communicate and exchange ideas about the latest trends, innovations and news in the fields of industry and defence, as regional and international armed forces decision-makers can meet and discuss the latest emerging developments regarding strategy, operations and tactics, Major General Staff Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Mohammed Al Alawi, Commander of the UAE Air Force and Air Defence, told Al Jundi Journal, the monthly military and cultural magazine issued by the Ministry of Defense, a head of the event. IDEX is a platform providing experts and workers in various military and civilian sectors worldwide with the opportunity to communicate and exchange ideas about the latest trends, innovations and news in the fields of industry and defence, as regional and international armed forces decision-makers can meet and discuss the latest emerging developments regarding strategy, operations and tactics.''
