Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said Egypt’s Government Excellence Award reflects the Egyptian State's commitment to promote competition among employees at government institutions and encourage innovation.
The award also demonstrates the State's commitment to helping employees translate their innovative ideas into real projects, Madbouli added in his remarks to the ceremony of the 3rd edition of Egypt Government Excellence Award, which kicked off under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. He noted that the award goal is linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Goal 16 about promoting just, peaceful and inclusive societies. Madbouli applauded the performance of the award organizers, as well as their efforts to improve it and introduce new categories and promote a culture of excellence at government institutions. Meanwhile, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El Saeed said the award is part of a strategic partnership launched in 2018 with the UAE to upgrade government work by encouraging competition and promoting a culture of excellence at the individual as well as institutional levels. She added that upon President Sisi's directives, a new category of the award titled: "equal opportunity and women’s empowerment," was launched during the current edition to create a safe workplace for women employees at government institutions. For the first time, this session also features the first edition of an internal excellence award, which saw the participation of five universities and some government service units, Saeed said. The premier concluded the ceremony by honoring the winners of the award, which includes up to 20 categories for this year's edition. Corporate Excellence Awards include; the Distinguished Institution Award, which is divided into prizes for local units in the governorates (center, city, neighborhood, village), educational institutions (government colleges), and the Distinguished Unit Award for providing government services. Meanwhile, Individual Excellence Award includes; Best Sector Head, Best Head of Central Department, Best General Director, and Best Department Manager. Launched in 2018 by President Sisi, the award is part of a strategic partnership with the UAE to achieve an efficient and effective government administrative body that applies the concepts of governance to contribute to the development of the Egyptian government performance which will lead to the increase in citizen satisfaction for the objectives of “Egypt Vision 2030”. |
