Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hani Sewilam presided over a meeting to discuss the conditions of the Egyptian irrigation mission in Sudan, in light of the tension engulfing the African country.
The meeting gave an overview of a report about the situation of the mission's members and how far the food and main commodities are available there, according to a statement issued by the Irrigation Ministry. During the meeting, Sewilam phoned the mission's members to stand on their conditions. He also issued directives to form an emergency room at the ministry's Nile River's sector to follow up on the mission's situation and maintain coordination with the various ministries to provide all the necessary support to them. He further underlined the need to coordinate with the Egyptian Embassy in Sudan, exercise extreme caution, and stay away from conflict zones. |
