Egypt’s International Co-operation Minister Rania el Mashat asserted Sunday Egypt has greater partnership relations and co-operation with the International Finance Corporation
Speaking at a press conference, in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Managing Director of IFC Makhtar Diop, Mashat thanked the Corporation for partnership and co-operation and the help of the Private Sector in Egypt. The minister said we are meeting today to sign an agreement to offer consults, known as TSA systems. The deal is the first ever and comes in accordance with the new Country Partnership Framework to boost competition and support the state’s reform agenda and the help of small and medium-sized projects and the participation of the Private Sector, according to her. The IFC has the largest projects in Egypt with a value of about seven billion dollars in accordance with the partnership, said Mashat. She added another two billion dollars will be added to finance more projects in the country in the coming five years. The agreement will focus on increasing the capital and running the state-owned assets along with offering technical support for development, added Mashat. Health minister probes preparations for hosting Int’l conference on population, development. Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar discussed during a meeting Sunday with Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Egypt Naima al-Qaseer preparations for Egypt hosting the International Conference on Population and Development slated for Sept. 5 in the New Administrative Capital under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. Spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the meeting took up the topics expected to figure high on the gathering’s agenda, along with WHO’s support to the event, especially amid great care attached to health, population and development issues and their great impact on peoples’ health and welfare. The minister highlighted current major challenges besetting the entire globe that require further international cooperation and integration to address all issues, he said. The two sides also followed up preparations for WHO Secretary General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus participation in the four-day event to help render the conference a success and press ahead with efforts aimed at serving health and population-related issues as they constitute major challenges for developed as well as developing countries, added the spokesman. |
