Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli reaffirmed the importance of working to resolve any problem facing the implementation of an initiative on cutting down the prices of basic commodities to mitigate the burdens on citizens.
Madbouli’s statements came during a meeting to follow up the progress made in the iniative in the presence of Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Al Moselhi and Minister Agriculture and Land Reclamation El Sayyed Al Qusseir among senior officials concerned with the prices. Minister Moselhi said his ministry works with ministries concerned and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) to provide hard currency necessary for importing basic goods. For his part, CBE deputy governor Mohamed Moussa said the CBE received a statement from the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade for providing commodities worth 135 million dollars, pointing out that part of the sum has been disbursed. |
