The Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, held a meeting today with the Governor of South Sinai, Major General Khaled Fouda, to follow up and discuss the executive position of a number of projects that are taking place within the scope of the governorate.
At the beginning of the meeting, the executive position of a number of projects that are scheduled to open in the coming period were discussed. The Governor of South Sinai pointed out in this regard that the cost of implementing these projects exceeded 4.5 billion pounds in a number of important sectors and areas. The governor said that among the projects to be opened is a project to implement expansions in a sewage treatment plant with an oxidation pool system in Sharm el-Sheikh, with a capacity of 7500 m3/day, at a total cost of 195 million pounds, in addition to a project to establish a new city council building for Sharm el-Sheikh. The governor added: “Among the projects to be opened is the Central Park Project, in the neighborhood of Al-Nour next to the new Sharm El-Sheikh City Council.” The governor referred to the projects of the commercial mall building and the bank complex in the central park, which are also scheduled to open. He explained that the mall consists of 17 shops and 4 restaurants, in addition to open areas, as well as the bank complex. Regarding the project to protect the city of Sharm el-Sheikh from the dangers of floods, the governor explained that this project included the implementation of 15 industrial lakes with a storage capacity of 4 million cubic meters and 9 dams with a storage capacity of about 2.6 million cubic meters, in addition to the implementation of 13 open channels with a length of 47.3 km and 11 steering barriers with a length of 2.6 km. With regard to the project of the unified comprehensive security system for the South Sinai Governorate, Major General Khaled Fouda pointed out that the implementation of this system would contribute to securing all the main axes of the governorate with panoramic cameras. In addition to the unified state system of insurance by visual monitoring, through about 2,500 cameras deployed along roads and important axes. Finally, the project of the Visual Monitoring Building, where the governor explained that this center is dedicated to the comprehensive and central control of security systems in all cities of the governorate. The governor of South Sinai pointed out that the camel track platform project includes the development of the old platform in the track with a length of 4 linear km. As for the Bedouin Heritage Village project, the Governor stressed that it focuses on developing the Bedouin Heritage Village and exploiting it as a new addition to cultural and heritage tourism, to exploit it touristy and make it one of the tourist programs for visitors to the city of Sharm El-Sheikh. With regard to the project of the Veterinary Unit of Camel, the Governor of South Sinai indicated that the work of equipping it with the necessary tools and devices, as well as medicines, has been completed. The project aims to enhance veterinary technical supervision of camel races in addition to serving citizens who own livestock. |
