Minister of Public Enterprises Sector Mahmoud Esmat held talks with Thomas Oetterli, CEO of Rieter, the globally leading Swiss company in spinning machinery, at the ministry headquarters in the Administrative Capital.
They discussed the executive status of supplying machines, equipment, and modern machinery provided by the Swiss company for new spinning and textile factories, which are included in the development project and adhere to the specified timeline within the framework of the general implementation plan across all sites, completion schedules, construction deadlines, and other specified parameters. During the meeting, attended by Ahmed Shaker, Chairman of the Holding Company for Cotton, Spinning, and Weaving, and Mohamed Daabis, the Minister's assistant for follow-up, the minister stated that these discussions are part of the strategy to support the industry, expand manufacturing, and maximize the economic returns of raw materials and economically significant crops, especially cotton. This comes alongside continuous monitoring of the implementation of the national project for the development of the spinning and textile industry, in preparation for the opening of new factories. The minister reviewed the operations at the "Spinning 4" factory, the first of the new factories, and reviewed the specifications of the produced yarns, as well as providing some spare parts that are continuously consumed and required. The meeting also included finalizing the installation of machines at the "Spinning 1" factory of the Egyptian Spinning and Weaving Company in Mahalla El-Kubra, which is the world's largest spinning factory with approximately 183,000 spindles under one roof. The factory's completion is currently underway in preparation for trial operation. He emphasized that adherence to machine supply operations within the specified deadlines is one of the most important elements of the schedule for completing the factories under the development plan, explaining that the new machines operate with the latest technologies to achieve operational efficiency and high product quality while saving energy consumption. Esmat pointed out to the provision of after-sales services for machine supply and installation operations to ensure sustainability in operation and achieve targeted production rates, as well as continuing the training program for workers on how to deal with modern technology in new machines and equipment. |
