Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has underscored the importance of the role played by the Supreme Council of Digital Society, which has recently been reconstituted, in achieving a set of goals including the approval of the national strategy to build an integrated digital state, the adoption of policies, procedures, and mechanisms for the structural changes necessary to build a digital society, in addition to approving policies for providing digital government services and those aimed at building a digital industry that attracts investments and job opportunities.
This came as Madbouli chaired the first meeting of the Supreme Council of Digital Society after being reconstituted. The meeting was attended by Minister of Justice Omar Marwan, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el Saeed, Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, President of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) Khairat Barakat, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Administrative Development, Digital Transformation and Mechanization Khaled el Attar, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Infrastructure Affairs Raafat Hindy, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Rami Aboulnaga, in addition to a number of representatives of the ministries and authorities concerned. The council approved the recommendations presented by the data, applications and services governance committee that is chaired by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology with regard to the necessity of adhering to the unified digital identities of citizens in dealing with all government applications and services. |
