Minister of International Cooperation Rania el Mashat asserted Egypt’s keenness on developing ties with Azerbaijan, adding that this was clear in several situations and meetings in the past years topped by the visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Azerbaijan in January 2023.
This came during Mashat’s reception of a high-level Azerbaijani delegation under Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev. The delegation includes 22 officials from the public and private sectors in the fields of digital development, transport, investment promotion, renewable energy, petroleum, health, industry and construction. This comes within the framework of continuation of developing joint ties between both countries to achieve mutual interest for both peoples. Meanwhile, Rzayev expressed appreciation of the Egyptian-Azerbaijani relations, asserting his happiness over Sisi’s visit to his country in 2023. Mashat pointed out to discussing preparations for the 6th Egyptian-Azerbaijani joint committee due in Cairo this year. The delegation said that the talks included cooperation in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing, exporting Egyptian medicines to Azerbaijan, exchanging food products between both countries, cooperating in the field of maritime transport and transportation of goods. The talks also tackled increasing volume of investments between both countries, manufacturing electric cables, cooperation in the fields of aviation and construction, exchanging expertise in the field of petroleum, gas, chemical industries and manufacturing pesticides in addition to cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence, NATO techniques and transferring Egyptian expertise to Azerbaijan in the fields of green hydrogen and renewable energy technologies. |
