Egyptian Minister of Transport Ambassador First Lieutenant General Kamel el-Wazir and Imad Al-Din Mustafa, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan, discussed ways to strengthening bilateral relations between both states.
Minister Kamel el-Wazir received, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Transport in the New Administrative Capital, the new Sudanese Ambassador, where both held a meeting, which was attended by the heads of (the General Authority for Roads and Bridges - the General Authority for Land and Dry Ports - the General Authority for River Transport - the Transport Regulatory Authority Domestic and international land). At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Transport stressed the depth of Egyptian-Sudanese relations and fruitful cooperation in the field of transport, which was confirmed by the Sudanese ambassador to Cairo, who pointed out the importance of this cooperation and praised the huge achievements being achieved in Egypt in various fields, including the transport sector. The two sides then discussed the importance of Egyptian companies specialized in the field of infrastructure implementing various projects in Sudan because of their great experience in implementing these projects, whether inside or outside Egypt in many Arab and African countries. The latest developments in joint cooperation between the Nile Valley Navigation Authority and the Sudanese River Navigation Authority, where Egyptian companies are developing the current river pier in Wadi Halfa Port, and the General River Transport Authority is maintaining the Aswan-Wadi Halfa navigation line with a length of 350 km through the maintenance of navigational aids. The discussions also touched on joint cooperation in the field of land ports between the two countries (Qastal - Arqin) to facilitate the movement of passengers and goods from Egypt to Sudan and vice versa, and the latest developments regarding the establishment of logistical areas for the crossings, which contributes to increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two sides, especially with the railway connection plan between Egypt and Sudan. |
