Prime Minister (PM) Dr. Mostafa Madbouly met, with US ambassador to Egypt, Herro Mustafa Garg.
The Prime Minister welcomed the U.S. Ambassador, emphasizing the strong strategic and historical relations between Egypt and the United States. Moreover, he praised the constructive cooperation and active partnership over the decades with various successive U.S. administrations. Furthermore, Madbouly expressed Egypt's keenness to support bilateral relations in various fields and to overcome any obstacles hindering the development and enhancement of these relations to broader horizons. He also expressed his appreciation for the support provided by US to Egypt during various phases of their distinguished bilateral relations, highlighting the role of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in supporting the implementation of important projects in Egypt, primarily infrastructure development projects, the enhancement of health services, and support for Egypt's population programs. For her part, U.S. Ambassador expressed her pleasure at this meeting, affirming the fruitful cooperation between the two countries at this time, especially in light of the challenges facing the region. In addition, she pointed out the importance of cooperation and coordination of positions between Cairo and Washington to support efforts aimed at achieving peace, security, and stability in the region. US ambassador also stated that activating frameworks for cooperation and coordination between the two countries would be a working framework for the U.S. Embassy in the upcoming period. Additionally, she expressed her aspiration for continued bilateral cooperation in many fields, especially the economy and education. In this regard, US ambassador pointed out to the potential for cooperation in the energy sector, given Egypt's distinguished location, which qualifies it for collaboration with neighboring countries in this vital field, and to play a pivotal regional role in the energy sector. She also highlighted that there are 1,200 American companies operating in the Egyptian market, noting that these companies represent a model of success and irrefutable proof of the results of cooperation between the two sides, expressing her anticipation for further direct American investment in Egypt. The meeting included a discussion of several visions and proposals that would contribute to supporting bilateral relations between Egypt and the United States in priority areas for both countries. |
