Egypt and Japan are collaborating on a diverse range of projects valued at approximately $3.9 billion, encompassing areas such as health, education, and energy, in line with Egypt's sustainable development objectives.
This partnership was highlighted in a recent statement by the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation. During a meeting between Rania Al-Mashat, the Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, and Oka Hiroshi, the Japanese Ambassador to Egypt, discussions focused on reinforcing economic ties between the two nations based on shared priorities and interests. Al-Mashat emphasized the importance of enhancing international partnerships in industrial localization and human development as Egypt and Japan mark 70 years of diplomatic relations. Plans for a significant policy dialogue scheduled by the end of August were discussed to advance bilateral cooperation, addressing development issues, collaboration proposals, and technical aid in alignment with Egypt’s 2030 vision and ministry priorities. The Minister underscored the significance of deepening relations with Japan, particularly in industrial and human development sectors, recognizing the positive impact on sustainable economic growth and the value of Japanese expertise in these areas. Talks also revolved around Al-Mashat's upcoming visit to Japan coinciding with the 70th anniversary of bilateral relations, during which meetings with Japanese counterparts and developmental organizations are expected to take place. |
