Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said his visit to Minya is meant to focus on following up on a number of projects of presidential initiative “Decent Life” for developing the Egyptian countryside whose first stage is about to end amid preparations for launching the second stage soon.
This falls within the framework of efforts to reach out to the largest possible number of Egyptians in rural areas, according to him. This came in statements he gave upon his arrival to Minya to inspect a number of service projects. He is being accompanied during his tour by Local Development Minister Manal Awad, Housing Minister Sherif Serbini, Minya Governor Emad Kidwani and a number of other officials. The inspection visit focuses on projects on developing utilities and health services in light of their importance for improving the quality of people's lives. For her part, Minister Awad said Decent Life projects represent the largest development initiative implemented in Egypt with its impact reaching people in rural areas. Housing Minister Sherbini said the presidential initiative focuses in particular on utilities projects, especially those of sanitation and drinking water, to improve people's lives. Governor Kidwani said Minya has largely benefited from the initiative with 3,202 projects in 32 various sectors implemented in 192 villages across different parts of the Upper Egyptian governorate. These projects have been a boon to three million locals, he added. |
