Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli emphasized keenness of the government on reinforcing sectors producing components of various projects, in particular the pumps that represent a key aspect for drinking water, sanitation, gas and other projects.
He added that the localization of components' production is an important step in reducing the import bill and enhancing the implementation of these vital projects. Madbouli made the remarks while inspecting the headquarters of Egyptian- German company Ruhrpumpen in Suez governorate, which is pump technology company that offers highly-engineered and standard pumping solutions. Ruhrpumpen is one of the world's leading manufacturers of centrifugal and reciprocating pumps with a wide range of pumping solutions across industries. During his tour of the premises of the company, the premier was briefed by General Director of the company Mohamed Shehata on the activities of the company which was established in 2006 as a joint venture. Since then, the Egyptian facility specialized in the manufacturing and assembly of centrifugal pumps in accordance with the specifications of API 610 for petroleum, gas and petrochemical applications as well as providing service and spare parts for such pumps, the director said. The annual production rate of the company has reached 520 pumps, with a local manufacturing ratio of up to 75 percent for certain models, Shehata said. In 2023, the company's sales reached 10.3 million euros, Shehata noted. He added that the company aims to achieve sales of 11 million euros by the end of 2024. The company has provided over 1,200 pumps to major Egyptian oil and gas companies and several countries, like Germany, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and England till the year 2023, the director of the company added. During the year 2023-2024, the company's Suez factory has been certified as the first in Egypt and the Middle East to produce all types of fire pumps with a 100-percent local manufacturing. The company has exported complete pumps and pump parts to Germany, England, Brazil, and Mexico, along with providing technical and engineering support to its global factories by its Egyptian engineers, Shehata explained. Highlighting the 2024-2025 plans, the director of Ruhrpumpen Egypt said that the company plans to expand exports of locally-manufactured pumps in collaboration with industry leaders like Enppi, Petrojet, Egyptian Maintenance Company and Petromaint, capitalizing on ongoing projects outside Egypt. |
