Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Sherif el Sherbini had a meeting with Cameroon's Minister of Housing and Urban Development Celestine Kitscha and Cameroon Ambassador to Egypt Mohamadou Labarang and their accompanying delegation to discuss boosting bilateral cooperation.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 12th edition of the World Urban Forum (WUF), that is being hosted in Cairo, making its return to the African continent after more than 20 years after its inception in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2002. The minister said that the Egyptian State, represented by the housing ministry, is ready to share its extensive expertise and transfer its hands-on experience to the brothers in Cameroon and all African countries. The Egyptian construction companies, consulting offices, and real estate developers have extensive experience in implementing various urban development projects, Sherbini said. The Egyptian companies also have a strong presence in the African and Middle East regions, and are ready to implement various projects anywhere in the world, particularly in African countries, he added. Sherbini gave a comprehensive explanation of Egypt's experiment, represented by the housing ministry, in the field of providing housing units, particularly for low-income brackets, within the framework of the "Housing for All Egyptians" project, launched by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, as well as the State’s efforts to develop unsafe areas and establish and develop 4th generation cities. For her part, Kitscha lauded the great progress achieved by the Egyptian state in the field of urban development. |
