Mahmoud Mohieldin, Minister of Investment, met with Peter Kveck, Hungarian Ambassador to Egypt, as part of the preparations for a high-ranking visit to Hungary. They discussed ways to enhance Egyptian-Hungarian cooperation within the investment fields.
Mohieldin reviewed Hungary's investments in Egypt, which consist mainly of tourism service and the industrial sectors. Hungary's visit will significantly contribute to developing the bilateral economic and investment relations, particularly with the availability of several investment opportunities in all sectors, according to the minister. Egypt and Hungary enjoy distinguished political and cultural relations. Mr. Kveck stated that Hungary was interested in contributing to the medical city project in Egypt based on its long experience in the field of hospital construction and management, as well as water desalination, and water treatment pumping stations. Kveck said cooperation is underway between Egypt and Hungary in field of serum production, adding that Hungary enjoys large experience in field of farm building, in addition to other Hungarian investments in various sectors. Minister Mohieldin said bilateral investment cooperation can be enhanced by opening contact channels between the General Authority for Investment (GAFI) and its Hungarian counterpart and exchanging information and visits to help develop investments. The meeting was attended by CEO of the Hungarian Export-Import Bank, the head of the Egyptian-Hungarian Business Association, GAFI Chairman, Osama Saleh and his deputy, Nivin Ashafei. |
