Scope | Ref. No.: RFP-2014 Issue Date: 16-Feb-2010 Pre-Tender Meeting Date: 08-Mar-2009 Question Closing Date: 10-Mar-2010 Bid Closing Date: 23-Mar-2010 Fee: 30 Kuwaiti Dinars deposited in the Company’s Account No. (50 11 21 30 101) of the National Bank of Kuwait - Ahmadi Branch, a formal receipt to be enclosed/scanned with the submitted Application or A money transfer to the Company’s bank account (50112130101) with National Bank of Kuwait, Ahmadi Branch, Kuwait, Swift Code (NBOKKWKW). Bid Bond: USD 13,500.00 or KD 3900. Adrress: Bid Opening Committee, Kuwait Oil Company, P O Box 9758, Ahmadi 61008, Kuwait. Scope of Work: 1- Collection of all relevant data pertaining to the wells and reservoirs, where dual ESP technology for separating water from oil, can be implemented. The consultant is responsible for collecting all relevant data, pertaining to the selected wells and the reservoirs in which these selected wells are located, to carry out the study, from field development group engineers & concerned assets’ engineers of the company. The company would give minimum eight wells for the proposed study. Candidate well selection will be done by the consultant in consultation with concerned company field development groups. The company reserves the right to give additional maximum up to eight wells for the study. Study period to carry out study of first 8 wells shall be 5 months. For carrying out study of each additional well (other than first 8 wells), additional 15 days per well shall be given over and above basic study period of 5 months. 2- Confirm the existence of water coning problem for these selected wells with proper justification. This would require screening and analyzing the collected data as well as using appropriate analytical approach to arrive at a logical conclusion. If required, the Consultant would use appropriate licensed software/simulation tools for this purpose. If water-coning problem is not confirmed after analysis of simulation studies for any of the selected wells, then KOC reserves the right to give alternate wells for the study. 3- Collection of all relevant data by the Consultant to study potential of reservoirs, which may be located above and/or below the producing reservoirs of selected wells, where water, separated by employing Dual ESP technology, can be injected. Selection of potential reservoirs, where water can be injected, will be done by the consultant in consultation with concerned field development groups. 4- Confirm the suitability of these potential reservoirs located in selected wells, where water being pumped by the use of dual ESP technology in these selected wells, can be injected. This would require screening, analyzing and validating the collected data. The consultant would adopt appropriate methodology of simulation and/or software studies to arrive at a logical solution. The Consultant would use appropriate standard licensed simulation and/or software tools for this purpose. The study should primarily be able to estimate apart from other things, - Compatibility of these potential reservoirs to take up the injected water, if required. - The rate at which water can be pumped into each of these potential reservoirs. - Estimation regarding period for which these potential reservoirs can take up the injected water, if required. 5- Present complete & detailed dual ESP completion design with cost implications, for employing reverse coning concept in selected wells. This would require the consultant to study existing completion design of selected Wells, to facilitate in working out updated completion design to employ dual ESP technology for implementing reverse coning concept in these selected wells. For each selected well, the consultant should consider following two alternatives. - For pumping water separated by dual ESP technology in any potential reservoir, located above or below the producing reservoir of each of these selected wells. - For pumping water through Dual ESP technology to the surface. - For both these above-mentioned alternatives, the Consultant should work out following details for every Well under study. A- Updated completion schematic. B- Detailed ESP Design with parameters like pump size/model/desirable pumping rate/operating range, etc. C- Detailed cost estimations amongst other things should focus on cost of each additional completion equipment required, cost of each ESP system component, and any other costs to be incurred to implement the technology. - The consultant should carry out techno-economic analysis of each selected well. The consultant should recommend most viable option for each well under study. 6- Provide panoramic information about other comparable/alternative technologies, if available, to implement reverse coning concept. 7- Guidelines for facilitating reverse coning to implement it as a long-term strategy of the company. 8- Provide data bank of case histories and/or technical papers, available on this subject. 9- Provide relevant information of technology/service providers, with their experience in this technology, especially with reference to well completion and supply of down-hole equipments, for application of reverse coning technology. 10- Conduct a workshop to discuss detailed designs with cost data of selected wells. 11- Present findings of the study to the company & make relevant changes, if necessary. 12- Prepare and submit comprehensive reports in soft and hard copy format (10 copies). The hard copies should be professionally designed and executed. 13- Prepare and submit handouts, summarizing findings of the study in soft and hard copy format (20 copies). 14- The language of the report should be English. 15- Engineering units must be same as in use in the company, like pressure should be in PSI, temperature in oF, depth in feet and viscosity in Centi Poise. 16- The report shall be a compilation of data bank, new technology research, a ready reference tool and a vision statement for the company to implement reverse coning technology. |
