Scope | Ref. No.:RFP-2144 Issue Date: 05-Apr-2010 Question Closing Date: 11-Apr-2010 Bid Closing Date: 27-Apr-2010 New Bid Closing Date: 04-May-2010 Address: Bid Opening Committee, Kuwait Oil Company, P O Box 9758, Ahmadi 61008, Kuwait. Scope of Work: Contractor shall design, develop, manufacture, supply and operate 11-3/4" drilling motor, which shall be similar in concept and performance to INTEQ’s 12-3/4" X-treme drilling motors for directional and straight hole performance drilling application. This will help in increasing the overall drilling performance by improving penetration rates and reduced number of trips. The new 11-3/4" motor shall provide more power and a more robust design compared to 9-1/2" and 9-5/8’ motors. It shall deliver enhanced drilling performance and improve reliability. The details of the motor to be developed are as the following sections: Lobe Configuration: 5 / 6 Flow Rate: 630 - 1,250 GPM (2,400 - 4,800 LPM) Speed: 80 - 160 RPM Operating Differential Pressure: 1,200 PSI (84 Bar) Operating Torque: 21,000 ft-lbs (29,000 Nm) Operating WOB: 75,300 lbs (335 KN) Power Output: 650 HP (485 KW) Maximum Differential Pressure: 1,500 PSI (105 Bar) Maximum Torque: 26,500 ft-lbs (36,000 Nm) Maximum WOB: 114,700 lbs (510 KN) 1- The project scope comprises the complete design and manufacture of the 11-3/4" X-treme drilling motor including the generation of the documentation for designing, manufacturing, repair, maintenance and operation. Since Baker Hughes doesn’t offer 11-3/4" tools, the thread connection for the outer components shall be developed and optimized by Finite Element Analyses (FEA). These shall be verified by a make-up torque test. The project scope shall also include manufacturing support and field support of the first prototype motors. 2- The total development process, including manufacturing of prototype motors, shall not be more than nine months. This includes the lead-time of new thread gauges, which is approximately four months. 3- All the equipments provided by the contractor shall be new and provision shall exist for FAT and SAT inspections by company representatives if so directed by the company. 4- The parties shall proceed in phases, upon execution of this agreement, on the various tasks, all aimed at development of the project work product. The contractor shall provide a progress report to the Superintendent of the contract monthly basis and fortnightly basis to project lead. 5- A phase of a project shall be considered complete only when all project work product and all tasks described in the respective project statement for such phase have been completed. Neither party shall be obligated to participate or otherwise perform with regard to the next phase until the prior phase has been completed. 6- On successful development and manufacturing of the equipment, the contractor shall be responsible to arrange for demonstrating the performance of the motor in the well designated by company. The motor system performance shall be tested by running in hole. The contractor shall supply the required spares, if and when, required at no extra cost, to ensure that the pilot trial is completed successfully. 7- The contractor shall investigate any problem that occurs and report it to the company within twenty-four hours and try to fix it as early as possible. The contractor must maintain adequate spares in order to complete the pilot successfully. 8- Contractor shall provide the necessary technical support and manpower to install, operate, and run the equipment, to allow the company to conduct the test and verify its performance. 9- This is a Pilot trial and the scope of work is stated as a guidance and minimum required by the company. The contractor shall foresee all requirements for the manufacturing and execution and the cost of which shall deemed included in the contract price. 10- The developed motor shall carry the name of the company on it and the full name will be read as X-Treme /KOC 11 ¾" motor. The name shall be associated with the motor for four consecutive years. 11- Contractor shall sign a separate Memorandum of Agreement to include company in future equipment related research activities pertaining to this motor in the four years period. |
