| Scope | The works comprise design, detailed engineering, site survey, slit trenching, procurement, supply of all materials, tools and equipment, construction, testing and commissioning of new 20 MW elevated A-27 substation to replace the existing A-27 substation in Ahmadi and Improvement / Modification of Power Distribution Network in South & East Kuwait Area as summarized below: 1- Carry out Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study and the Project Health Safety and Environment Review (PHSER) for the complete system and implement its recommendation as described in the contract. 2- Construct the new-elevated A-27 substation building complete with the small power & lighting, HVAC, fire alarm & fire suppression system and all other works in accordance with the relevant drawings and technical specifications. 3- Supply and install all the electrical equipment and panels in the new 20 MW capacity A-27 substation comprising 11KV switchboard and its remote control panel, 2000kva transformer, 440v switchboard, battery & battery charger, distribution boards, ups system, escada (electrical supervisory control and data acquisition) system, marshalling panel, annunciator panel, earthing and lightning protection system etc. 4- Divert existing incomer cables from the A-142 substation to existing A-27 substation to the new A-27 substation and install fourth incomer cable from A-142 substation to new A-27 substation as described in Technical Specifications and shown in the relevant Drawings. Contractor’s scope will include transfer of all the electrical loads fed from the existing A-27 substation to new A-27 substation by re-routing and extending the existing cables in accordance with the relevant Drawings and Technical Specifications. 5- Modification and improvement of the power distribution network including extension & rerouting of existing cables, supply and installation of new 11kV Ring Main Units (RMUs), 2000 KVA transformer and transfer of loads from the existing to new equipment, RMUs & Panels. 6- All other civil and structural works comprising design and construction of reinforced concrete foundations for RMUs, Transformers, security fences, approach road to new A-27 substation including grading, levelling and finishing the area around the new construction and other miscellaneous works. 7- All other electrical works including load flow, short circuit, relay coordination and setting studies using ETAP software, supply and installation of all cables and accessories viz. end termination kits, straight through jointing kits, lugs, glands, cable trays, duct banks, conduits, panel frames, supports, cable tiles, soft sands, cable route markers etc., lighting for new A-27 substation approach road and all equipment / fence earthing. 8- Demolition of existing A-27 substation building and other substations, removal of redundant equipment, fences, RMUs, switchboards / panels & cables and transporting to the company’s designated storage area. 9- Provide training to company’s maintenance staff for operation and maintenance of HT & LT switchboards, ESCADA system, UPS system, battery chargers and all other equipment supplied under this contract, complete with all the required training manuals. 10- All other works which could reasonably be deemed as necessary to provide the company with complete, proven and operable facility. |
