Scope | A site investigation is required in Libya waters (water depth circa 2000m), the Geotechnical scope comprises 10 x 100m boreholes. 6 of the 10 boreholes are at the position of exploration wells, the 4 ‘additional’ locations are intended to build understanding of variation of near surface ground conditions across the basin. Several of these ‘additional’ locations are also intended to sample the Messinian (anhydrite). Each borehole will be progressed with alternating sampling and in-situ testing. The Metocean scope comprises deployment of two current monitoring moorings, which are to be in service for 1 year. Drilling of a 12 1/4’ or 17 ˝’ borehole to a depth of 700m to evaluate both the jettability of the surficial soils and the drillability of the deep Messinian is required at one location. Petrophysical data (sonic, gamma and density logs) will be collected in the borehole whilst drilling through the Messinian. Leading on from the site investigation there will be a requirement to conduct onshore geotechnical laboratory testing on recovered soil and rock samples and to document findings from the site investigation in the form of field, factual and parameter reports. |
