The company invites sealed tenders from eligible candidates from Kenya and/or International, for the provision of Magnetotelluric (MT) Survey in the block. The company requires the contractor to provide equipment, personnel and services to acquire a Magnetotelluric (MT) survey in southern part of the block. National Oil has a requirement to collect and process wide-bandwidth MT data in the block. The overarching goal is to generate a 2-D model of the subsurface which can be utilized to improve basin study related hydrocarbon exploration models of the region by National Oil’s scientists and engineers.
The proposed survey area, approximately 6,000km2 in area, is located in a hilly area generally at a height of 600m – 1,800m, approximately 100 kilometers west of Nairobi. There is the lake of Magadi in the southern end of the survey area. Roads are not well developed and only a few roads are available for four wheel drive vehicles. |
