Scope of Work: 1. contractor shall furnish, without limitation, all facilities, tools, labor, supervision, technical and professional services, material, equipment, supplies and consumables for the execution of the scope of work (except electricity and water which will be supplied on chargeable basis by company) required for the dismantling, demolition and removal /disposal of the old power plant facilities and complete all required activities in accordance with this job specification. 2. Dismantling, demolition and removal / disposal of existing facilities, equipment items, spare parts, and handover of a clean project site area. 3. This involves the contractor acquiring ownership of all identified saleable items on an "as is where is no warranty", which includes six (6) gas turbine units, air compressor, emergency generator and associated equipment, surplus spare parts and the re-usable materials in the demolished buildings, such as cables and trays etc. 4. Contractor shall be solely responsible for the handling of the above saleable items including all required safe disconnection of pipes and cables from the dismantled equipment, disassembling if required, loading, transportation and unloading both at site and any off-site location. 5. Identified saleable items shall also include drawings and O&M manuals, which shall be handed over to the contractor. 6. Existing 4 (four) lighting poles, those concrete foundations and power supply cable located at the north and east boundaries of the project site area, which shall remain, shall be carefully removed / secured / during the demolition work and reinstalled by the contractor. Only cable disconnection / connection work of the power supply will be arranged by company. 7. Also contractor shall provide fencing and also additional measures as required to contain the site area to prevent small objects and waste materials from contaminating outer areas. Thereafter contractor shall start to dismantle, demolish / break-up and remove concrete foundations, steel structures / cladding, utilities, office buildings, basements, piping, cables, wiring etc., and disposal of same, as well as removal of contaminated soil, all waste materials – Hazardous (Asbestos etc) / Non-Hazardous wastes - to KJO/PME (Saudi Arabia Presidency of Meteorology and Environment) approved disposal sites as per KJO environmental regulations. 8. Within the project site areas are two (2) defined locations to be partially demolished with service pipelines routed underground, which shall remain fully operational during the execution of the project. Demolition contractor shall ensure that no heavy equipments entry, no excavation activities are performed in these defined locations, and shall only remove any above ground buildings and equipment items and demolish to ground level any above ground concrete structures and associated items. Final finishing of the surface and leveling of the project Site shall be the same all over the entire demolition area including the partially demolished locations. 9. Contractor shall backfill with suitable hardcore material, including leveling, compacting and grading of entire project site area, which shall include the supply of all necessary materials, including dewatering, shoring and required testing of the ground condition to achieve a clear and clean project site area satisfactory to KJO. 10. Contractor shall carefully study the location of the company’s existing live service pipelines and perform the work so as not to damage them. In the event that any of such facilities are damaged by the contractor, the same shall be immediately located and repaired by the contractor at his cost and responsibility. |
