Scope | Hiring of mud logging services with all equipment, consumables and manpower for oil well drilling operation in two exploratory wells with a provision for one more well in the block. - Service Required: Contractor is required to provide the following: a) To provide one skid mounted Mud Logging Unit. b) To provide personnel to operate and maintain the Unit. - Technical Requirement Of Mud Logging Unit: The essential capabilities of the Mud Logging Unit are as given below: (i) Mud Logging Unit: The unit is required to be skid mounted, fully insulated, and with PC based online real time system and most advanced software with latest version of each software suitable for onshore operation and transportable in oilfield truck. The MLU must not be older than 5 years from date of manufacture or 2 years since last refurbishment date. The period in this regard shall be reckoned prior to the date of opening of techno-commercial bid. (ii) Power Supply: The power will be provided to the Unit from the drilling rig. Since availability of stabilized power supply from rig is a big constraint because of very high voltage spikes and harmonics during operation, Contractor is required to provide necessary equipment etc. to handle the spikes and harmonics. The Unit is required to be equipped with isolation transformer and online UPS system having modern filter circuits (linear power supply for all the sensitive equipment connected with MLU) to eliminate spikes generated by SCR power converter and harmonics during operation. Company will not be responsible for damage to any equipment/computer system of the MLU due to spikes and harmonics arising out of power supplied from rig. The MLU will have to be equipped with 3-phase transformer, isolation transformer etc, since it is necessary to obtain required power output and to take care of high voltage spikes. (iii) Computer System: Description: PC with Intel Dual Core or equivalent, minimum 512 MB RAM, minimum 80 GB Hard Disk, with DVD Combo Drive (52x) Quantity: 3 Description: On-line heavy duty color printer for real time printing of desired parameter on Continuous Stationary Quantity: 3(Min) or as per requirement Description: Off-line heavy duty inkjet printer of A3 size Quantity: 1 (Min) Description: Off-line color LaserJet printer for printing reports/graphics of A4 Size Quantity: 1 (Min) Description: One scanner (A4) Quantity: 1 (Min) The software to be used should be window based (latest and advanced) with graphical as well as numerical display and data transmission facility from the well site for proper monitoring and decision making. (iv) Instrumentation: The Unit must have all the sensors and requisite accessories and be capable of recording the essential drilling and mud parameters as given below. Drilling rate (ROP) in metres per hour. (a) Pump Stroke Counter, SPM (3 nos.) (b) Rotary speed, RPM (c) Stand Pipe Pressure, SPP (d) Weight on Bit and Weight on Hook, WOB/WOH (e) Pit Level/ Volume: Individual and sum (up to 6 pits) (f) Mud Weight IN/OUT Volume (g) Continuous recording and analysis of gas with high sensitivity (h) Casing Pressure (i) Pressure Gradient (psi/ft) (j) Dc-Exponent/Sigma Log (k) Torque (l) Trip Tank Level/Volume (m) Mud Flow Rate IN/OUT (n) Mud Temperature IN/OUT (o) Mud Resistivity IN/OUT (p) Over pull during Tripping (q) Lag Time Parameters The sensors must not be more than two (02) years old. The period in this regard shall be reckoned prior to the date of opening of techno-commercial bid. - Geological Surveillance Work: Geological surveillance work is required to be carried out round the clock at drilling site in Mud Logging Unit as detailed below (a) Examination/Analysis: i) Drill cutting samples: To collect, prepare and examine for lithological, fluoroscopic studies at depth intervals specified by the company ii) Side wall core/Conventional core: Examination and description iii) Gas analysis: Detection of gas from C1 through C5 along with volume percentage. iv) Running carbide test as and when required by Geologist/Drilling Engineer (b) Detection of Down hole Problems/Anomalies, etc: i) High/Abnormal Pressure Prediction: Analysis/computation of relevant data for detection of high pressure zones based on Dc Exponent, shale density, shale factor, Sigma log and detection of H2S, CO2 etc. with accuracy up to 10 ppm and 5% respectively; ii) Immediate detection of kick and monitoring of pipe pressure; iii) Detection of mechanical failure of bit, drill string and pumps; (c) Determination of Geological/Drilling Parameters: i) Determination of shale density, shale factor, estimation of carbonate volume in percentage of total volume; ii) Determination of kill mud weight, volume, etc.; iii) Real time plots of continuous recording of gas and FID based analysis of gas (C1-C5); iv) Determination of volume of mud loss in case of circulation loss; v) Determination of pressure drop in mud circuit, jetting velocity, bottom dynamic pressure and ECD; (d) Plotting and Preparation of Data : i) Master Log: To plot the observed data from drill cuttings along with description of lithology, ROP, gas reading, bit record and performance, important events, etc. at 1:500 scale. ii) Geo-pressure log: To prepare as (i) above at 1:500 scale. iii) Deviation drilling: In case of a deviated well, deviated section of the hole to be plotted (plan and vertical section) after computation of the data iv) Hole profile and drilling progress chart: To be plotted on regular basis/daily. v) Plotted data to be routinely (as advised) dispatched to the company’s office at Gabon. vi) Daily progress reports (including hydraulic report) to be submitted to the company’s Geologist every morning or as advised by the Geologist. (e) Other Services: Contractor’s personnel will be responsible for supervision and co-ordination for the above and also for the provision, analysis and report of the following: a) Drill cutting samples to be put in sample bags once they are dry; b) Sample bags to be marked with well number and depth; c) Any other instructions as advised by the company in connection with the service; d) To assist the well site geologist in core handling. e) During side wall coring and Conventional coring more association will be required as directed by Geologist. ( f ) Final Well Reports: Two original (one in French and the other in English) plus three copies of Well Completion Report must be submitted to Company in hard copies and also all the data in CD within 15 days from completion of rig down of the Unit. (g) Basic geological equipment: a) Binocular Zoom Microscope b) Fluoroscope with UV tube c) Calcimetry equipment d) Shale density determination equipment w/electronic balance e) Shale factor determination equipment f) Sieves g) Microwave oven (h) Basic laboratory equipment and Chemicals: i) Laboratory equipment shall include but not be limited to the following items: a. Test-tubes b. Burettes c. Pipettes d. Flasks e. Compartmental Trays (porcelain) f. Small cells for microfossils g. Filter paper h. Sample Trays i. Tweezers, Burin and Scoops (ii) One set of drafting equipment, stationery, master logs, copy paper and miscellaneous office supplies. This equipment will include printer, plotter and other material necessary for the recording of geological and drilling information. (iii) Precision balance. (iv) Chemicals to allow chemical test on cuttings and mud: a. Acids: HCl, HN03, H2S04 b. Propanol c. Alizarin red d. Methylene blue e. Glycerine f. Calcium carbonate g. Calcium carbide h. Phenolphthalein i. pH Paper (Litmus) j. Barium Chloride k. Distilled water l. Germicide m. Potassium Dichromate n. Magnesium Carbonate o. Wetting agent household detergent ( i ) Consumable Materials and Miscellaneous Consumable materials and miscellaneous shall include but not be limited to the following items:- 1. Paper bags for washed and dried cuttings 2. Cloth bags for unwashed cuttings samples 3. Sample boxes 4. Geochemical sample tins (500 ml) 5. Core boxes (To suit 4” Diameter Core) 6. Core wrap film and foil 7. Wax for sealing core samples 8. Shipping boxes for washed and unwashed samples 9. Red and blue or black wax core markers 10. Markers (Black, Red, etc) 11. Plastic bottles for fluids (1 litre) 12. Measuring tape 13. Geologist hammer 14. Magnet (pocket size) 15. Pencils in all standard colours 16. Paper, A4 size 17. Printer Paper 18. Paper towels 19. Cello tape and packing tape The Contractor shall advise the Company which of the consumable items above, if any, are included in the daily rate, and shall advise Company of any additional items and the cost thereof the Contractor requires performing its obligations. ( j ) Gas detection and analysis equipment: An FID based gas detection and analyzing equipment including degasser motor, compressor, calibration gas, hydrogen gas, etc. (k) Other equipment: (a) Intercoms with minimum 6 (six) terminals to connect derrick floor (dog house), mud attendant, etc. (b) Fire protection system of the MLU (c) On-line monitor is to be provided at wellsite Company Representative’s office for the purpose of monitoring the parameters. - Operation: The Mud Logging Unit will need to be operated round the clock at drilling site to record various drilling, lag time and mud parameters continuously as Para III above. - Personnel: Personnel to be provided by the Contractor to run the Unit round the clock during operation shall include: a) Two (02) Mud Loggers (one each per shift of 12 hrs): Should be qualified Postgraduate Geologist (M Sc / M Tech or equivalent) with minimum 3 (three) years experience in Mud Logging operation. The period in this regard shall be reckoned from date of opening of technocommercial bid. b) One (01) Total Drilling Control (TDC) Engineer: Should be qualified Engineer (Graduate or Post graduate) having minimum 3 (three) years experience in Mud Logging operation and maintenance having safety certification. The period in this regard shall be reckoned from date of opening of techno-commercial bid c) Two (02) sample catchers (one each per shift of 12 hrs) of (10+2) or equivalent having one or two year experience. The period in this regard shall be reckoned from date of opening of techno-commercial bid The Contractor shall provide CV`s of the Mud Loggers/Engineers that are likely to be used. All personnel must be able to communicate clearly and precisely in English and /or French. The said Engineers should have recent experience in providing engineering services to similar land wells. Relevant experience should be fully documented in the personnel CV’s submitted. The Contractor shall ensure that their personnel are eligible to work in Gabon and have all the necessary inoculations/yellow fever vaccination prior to travel. Note: One accommodation unit will be provided to MLU service personnel at base camp with food. - Maintenance: The Mud Logging Unit is to be maintained in proper working condition during operation to deliver uninterrupted service. Personnel to be provided must be competent and experienced enough to carry out routine maintenance of the Unit to provide trouble free service. Any breakdown, defect, malfunction, etc., of any item/equipment will need to be attended immediately and, if required, to be replaced. For this purpose, necessary spares and consumables to carry out repair/maintenance will need to be kept readily available at the Unit so that the drilling, mud and other related parameters are available online/on continuous basis. - Consumables: The Contractor is required to keep sufficient stock of various consumables listed below, which are required to operate the MLU and shall supply the same as and when required. Company shall pay for the cost of the items actually consumed on a monthly basis. It is estimated that following major items shall be required for operation of the unit for two wells. 1) Ink Cartridges (Colour) 2) Ink Cartridge (Black) 3) LaserJet Cartridge 4) Sample gas calibration 10 litre cylinder (Methane 100%) 5) Sample gas calibration 10 litre cylinder (Mixture gas) 6- Printer paper/Roll sheets fan fold 7- Bond paper (A-4) 8- Bond paper (A-3) - Hydrogen Generator: Contractor’s unit must have hydrogen generator/ hydrogen Gas Cylinder to take care of the hydrogen required for the gas panels. |
