Deviations from the said standard are specified in subsequent description points. Each end of the pipe is to be screwed with taper pipe threads conforming to IS: 554. Length of each joint: 6 to 7 metres. 2. Pipe mass and thickness must conform to Table 4 of BIS: 1239(Part-1): Latest Edition. 3. Sockets: Pipes are to be coupled with ERW sockets conforming to BIS: 1239 (Part-1): Latest Edition, having taper pipe threads conforming to BIS: 554, Latest Edition, to match the line pipes. Minimum socket dimensions as per Table 6 of BIS: 1239 Part 2, Latest Edition 4. Markings: Each tube shall be marked by stamping with manufacturer's name or trade-mark, IS No. that is, BIS 1239 (Part 1) and class of tubes, that is, M for medium. Each socket should also bear manufacturer's name, size and BIS -1239 (Part 2) marking. In addition, the PO number, length, OD of pipe and unique pipe number is to be stamped on each length of pipe. 5. Leak Proof Test: Each tube shall be tested for leak tightness at 5 MPa, as stipulated in BIS: 1239(Part-1), Latest Edition. Hydraulic testing shall be carried out in both pipes and sockets at testing pressures as mentioned in BIS: 1239 in screwed and coupled condition at supplier's works. * Item 007 Qty=7200M, Line pipe, 15mm (1/2") 1.Line pipe, ERW, galvanized, medium duty, made from hot rolled steel strips; screwed and socketed, conforming to BIS: 1239 (Part-1):Latest Edition.
