Scope | The company invites bids for Balancing and Servicing of Marine Loading Arms at Kipevu. The Technical specification of the Works includes the following: i. The marine loading arms and associated pipework shall be drained of product and degassed; thereafter gas tested and handed over to the contractor. ii. Dismantle, inspect, service and balance the marine loading arms at various points as per the bill of quantities. The contractor shall provide specialized marine equipment and strategically employ specialized marine mechanisms including tools & materials suitable for safe working at the Kipevu Oil Terminal jetty also referred as hazardous zone. The equipment include a floating platform suitable to carry a crane, steel rope of sufficient/safe working loads to avoid snapping (certificates of inspection from a statutory inspectorate must be shown), harness equipment, lugs and other necessary tools. All equipment and tools used shall be in good mechanical condition and conform to Factories Act of Laws of Kenya. iii. The Engineer in charge shall inspect and approve the surface preparations for the loading arms, associated pipework and fittings prior to paint application and check for the required Dry Film Thickness (DFT). It is recommended that the existing paint may be enhanced by applying fresh 2 No.coat of paint in order to achieve additional 100 DFT to the existing coat. |
