Scope | The company invites all prospective suppliers and contractors for Consultancy Services for Environmental Impact Assessment of Tiw Brine discharge from industries in MIC on seawater environment. Contractor shall perform the environmental impact assessment (EIA) study, which shall consider all environmental issues, aspects and impacts of the expected discharge of brine generated from Tiw on seawater quality, considering the brine discharge from the industries in mic. Contractor shall submit the EIA report as per the scope of services and in compliance to the MME requirements. discharge standards and water quality standards shall be used to identify spatial and temporal distribution of targeted compounds for modeling. discharge standards are defined at the end of pipe, i.e., the discharge concentration should not exceed the regulation standards. the water quality standards (WQS) is defined once the discharge has been released into the ambient water. typically, a mixing zone is defined in the case of water quality standards within which the concentrations are allowed to exceed the WQS. in order to assess the impact of Tiw brine discharge and emergency releases of Tiw on the environment and quality of the mesaieed seawater, contractor shall assess and study background / existing environmental condition for all possible environmental components. contractor shall carry out the sampling and analysis of the seawater at predefined twenty seven (27) locations including two (2) reference location on north and south at two (2) depths per location and two (2) times in a day (i.e.at low and high tides) during two (2) seasons (i.e. one time in summer and one time in winter). |
