| Scope | The company announces its need for Procurement Of Sodium Aluminate . Specification of Sodium Aluminate: - Item 001 Qty=40000 - Governing Standard : IS 4200 : 1984 (Reaffirmed in 2003). - Product Description : The material shall essentially be Sodium Aluminate (Na2AI2O4). - Product Use : To be used for water treatment and is based on its property of forming flocculant precipitates which are capable of coagulating. Product Requirements - Physical Properties : The material, as received, should be in the form of white granular mass. - Moisture content : The moisture content shall be 4.0 percent by mass, maximum when tested in accordance with the provisions of APPENDIX B (Clause 2.4) of the Governing Standard. - Characteristics i) Caustic alkalinity (as Na2O), : 40.0%, Minimum percent by mass. ii) Water soluble aluminate (as AI2O3), : 52.0%, Minimum percent by mass. iii) Iron oxide (as Fe2O3), parts per : 100 Maximum million. iv) Matter insoluble in water, : 1.2%, Maximum percent by mass. v) Chlorides (as NaCI), percent by mass : 0.2%, Maximum. vi) Lead (as Pb), parts per million : 50 ppm, Maximum vii) Arsenic (as As2O3),parts per million : 8 ppm, Maximum. - Packing : The material shall be packed in mild steel black plate drums with polyethylene liner Nett Capacity of drums : 25/50 Kg). As the material has a tendency to absorb moisture and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere which results in caking, the exposure of the material direct to air shall be avoided). - Marking : The packages shall be marked with the following information : i) Name of the material ; ii) Name of the manufacturer or his recognized trade-mark, if any ; iii) Mass of the material in the package ; and iv) Identification in code or otherwise to enable the batch of manufacturer to be traced from the records. N.B : Batch test certificate from manufacturer indicating batch number to be submitted along with supply of material. |
