Scope | Ref. No.: QEN-09-559 Issue Date: 29-Sep-2009 Bid Closing Date: 11-Oct-2009 Contract Duration: 5 months. Tel: 22547650, 25547610. Email: HashimAlBalushi@omanlng.com Scope of Work: The cathodic protection system shall be of the Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP). The system shall use Mixed Metal Oxide (MMO) activated titanium ribbon mesh to provide protection to all reinforcement of the elements. The system shall be monitored by permanently installed AG/AGCL reference cells and power shall be provided by a dedicated power, control and monitoring system, specifically designed for use in reinforced concrete structures. The impressed current anodes shall be of the mixed metal oxide activated expanded anode mesh. A titanium ribbon will be used to connect areas of anode material to form zones, which will be connect to the anode feeder cables in such a way as to provide some redundancy. An impressed current Cathodic Protection system for concrete structures may require the following basic components: - DC power supply (rectifier). - Inert anode material, such as catalyzed titanium anode mesh. - Wiring and conduit. - Instrumentation, such as embedded reference electrodes. The concrete will need to have extensive rehabilitation to repair the cracks/spilling before any CP is applied to have proper disbandment / delamination. The steel reinforcing bars will need to be assessed for electrical continuity. If electrical resistance is found to be too high then bonds will have to be installed to provide continuity where necessary. A dedicated Local Rectifier Unit shall be provided to cater for the requirement of Power supply for the new CP system. After carrying out the installation activities of the new improved CP system, Weir Boxes T-4202 & T-4203 will be externally coated as per existing painting specification. |
