Mohieldin, Vietnamese Meet on Economic Cooperation

The Minister of Investment, Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, reviewed the developments of Egypt-Vietnam economic and investment relations, as he met with Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt, Pham Si Tam.

Dr. Mohieldin congratulated the Vietnamese official for 65 years of success and achievements since the creation of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Dr. Mohieldin said, "The economic and investment cooperation agenda between Egypt and Vietnam aims at increasing investment and trade opportunities, as well as technical cooperation in investment-associated fields."

The agenda pays attention to exploring Vietnam's growth and development experiment. Vietnam is one of Asia's emerging economies and these efforts will achieve cultural and economic rapprochement between the two nations, particularly in value-added projects, Dr. Mohieldin continued.

The meeting, attended by the General Authority for Investment (GAFI) deputy chairperson, Nivin Al -Shafie, and a number of officials from the Ministry of Investment, came in light of Dr. Mohieldin's visit to Vietnam last January. "Another important pivot is to intensify the investment promotion missions in order to discover the climate and opportunities of investment and take investment ties to the aspired level," added the minister.

The Mohieldin-Tam meeting also tackled the opportunities of investment cooperation at bilateral and multilateral levels and details of the Vietnam-Africa Economic Cooperation Conference in August.

A delegation from the Ministry and GAFI will be witnessing that event, according to Dr. Mohieldin's directives.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Vietnam diplomat voiced his country's appreciation of the Ministry of Investment's efforts to enhance bilateral economic ties, thanked Dr. Mohieldin's efforts and expressed the Vietnamese government's greetings in this regard.
