In Pursuit of stronger bilateral investment ties, the Minister of Investment, Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, and the Indian Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. R. Swaminathan, reviewed the development of their economic relations, as well as means to enhance joint investments and embark on a series of investment missions from both parties.
They also discussed the exchange of expertise in order to boost investment cooperation, and Indian businesses' expansions in Egypt. Attended by deputy chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) and several officials from the Ministry of Investment, the meeting addressed the invitation for Minister Mohieldin to inaugurate the Indian Textile Exhibition, due to take place on July 4th; in which several Indian companies will participate. It was agreed to send an investment mission to India, in coordination with the ministries concerned, to bolster India's contribution to Egyptian projects as part of efforts aiming to attract more Indian investments to Egypt in light of India's great economic boom. Mr. Swaminathan hailed the strength of Egyptian-Indian ties in various fields, noting that Egypt is one of India's largest and most important partners in Africa. He highlighted the improvement in Egypt-India investment relations, stressing the importance of enhancing investment opportunities in both countries, thanks to the Egyptian economy's growth over the few past years. |
